1. A supportive space for sharing
Groups are a place to:
- share your daily life or your experiences;
- ask questions or seek help on a specific topic;
- share tips;
- chat freely.
In our discussion groups, we prioritise natural and authentic conversations.
2. What is encouraged
- start discussions and debates;
- help others;
- share experiences;
- ask sincere questions;
- get involved.
The more you participate, the more real connections you build with the community and its members.
3. What is not allowed
Solicitation & pressure
- "Add me", "chat with me privately" or similar requests. If a member wants to add you privately, she'll do so naturally;
- repeated requests;
- trying to force a relationship;
- asking who's available to go out, or suggesting an activity in the discussion groups. Not everyone will necessarily be interested, so we've created an "Activities" section specifically for this. Post your activity, and interested members will join you.
We're all here to make friends or meet new people — that's the heart of GirlsConnect. Posts like "I'm here to make friends" don't add anything to the community.
Social media & workarounds
- sharing your social media accounts publicly in the groups (Instagram, Snapchat, etc.);
- publicly asking other members for their contact information (Instagram, Snapchat, …);
- publicly encouraging members to connect on other networks.
Spam & self-promotion
- advertising, promotions, services;
- recruitment or canvassing;
- repeated or copy-and-paste messages across several groups — this is considered spam.
Disrespectful behaviour
- gratuitous criticism, mockery;
- judgements, hurtful remarks;
- aggression or conflict.
Inappropriate content
- inappropriate or offensive content;
- off-topic in relation to the theme of the group where the post is placed;
- misleading information.
Fake profiles & abuse
- identity theft;
- deliberate lies;
- manipulative or toxic behaviour.
4. Moderation & safety
GirlsConnect uses smart moderation (AI + human).
Content may be:
- automatically hidden if deemed disruptive to the community;
- deleted;
- limited in visibility.
Non-compliant behaviour may result in:
- a warning;
- a temporary restriction;
- account suspension;
- permanent deletion.
5. The role of moderators
Moderators are here to:
- maintain a positive atmosphere;
- re-engage discussions;
- step in when a problem arises;
- enforce the rules.
They complement the automated moderation.
6. The spirit of the groups
Before you post, ask yourself a question:
"Does this add something to the community?"
